Strengthening Families is an early intervention program supporting families to be safe, resilient and knowledgeable about the raising and development of children.

The Case Manager will assist families experiencing challenges in four key ways:

  • Helping them to become more emotionally resilient, to better cope with challenges now and into the future.
  • Increasing their protective factors and reducing risk factors that can lead to child abuse and neglect.
  • Improving their knowledge about children’s development and needs, and
  • Assisting them to experience connectedness to extended family, to community and to support services.

You will:

  • Have case management experience.
  • Have strong relationship building and communication skills.
  • Have an understanding of family challenges, child development and age appropriate strategies that will support parents to strengthen their parenting skills and ability to keep their children safe and nurtured.

It is essential for you to have: 

  • Current Australian Drivers Licence
  • Relevant experience, in a paid or voluntary capacity

It is desirable for you to have:

  • Certificate IV or above in a Human Services related field e.g. Community Services, Case Management, Child, Youth and Family Intervention, Youth Work etc, or a willingness and commitment to attain qualification within two (2) years of commencement of employment.

A tertiary qualification in a Human Services related field e.g. Social Work will be highly regarded.  You may also need to be available for some out of hours work and travel between UCSA sites or interstate as required.
