Position Summary

The Opportunity

The Spiritual Care Practitioner is responsible for the provision of professional pastoral care and spiritual support for our residents, families, staff and volunteers. The position will provide support in meaning making, times of personal crisis or critical incidents across three Residential Aged Care Facilities.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide staff education on spiritual care.
  • Participate in the development of ‘Spiritual Care Plans’ for residents.
  • Supportively respond to issues of palliative care, death and dying, loss and grief.
  • Demonstrate awareness and respect for the variety of denominational and faith diversity of residents.

The successful candidate will have relevant tertiary qualifications and experience in Theology, Social Sciences or Health Care and have completed a Basic Unit of CPE or willing to complete this within the first six months of employment.

We are seeking a dynamic individual who has experience in provision of pastoral/spiritual care and has background knowledge and cultural awareness.
