The Support Worker will become a valuable member of our Children and Parenting Support Service team and will be relied upon to work with vulnerable families and children, providing an early intervention holistic case management home visiting service. The Support Worker will support families to address challenges, achieve stability and increase resilience so that they are able to nurture their children in a safe supportive family environment.

You will:

  • Role model in the home routines, safe parenting practices and household management skills
  • Provide information and advocate for families to connect with extended family, community and other relevant services
  • Ensure accurate information is collected and stored in the relevant database/s
  • Complete comprehensive, professional case notes finalised within allocated timeframes on the relevant database/s
  • Plan and organise workload to achieve specified outcomes within set time frames including providing reports as required
  • Engage positively with Aboriginal people and deliver culturally appropriate and respectful services
  • Work collaboratively with a diverse range of people with multiple and complex needs

It is desirable for you to have: 

  • Certificate IV or above in a Human Services related field or a commitment to attain qualification within two (2) years of commencement of duties
  • Relevant experience, in a paid or voluntary capacity

A tertiary qualification in a Human Services related field e.g. Social Work will be highly regarded.  You may also need to be available for some out of hours work and travel between UCSA sites or interstate as required.

It is essential for you to have: 

  • Current Australian Drivers Licence
