The Utilities Literacy Program (also known as “connect.Ed” program) aims to reduce the financial hardship associated with utilities and build the community’s knowledge, understanding and capacity to manage their utility services.  This will be achieved through the delivery of information and education sessions to members of the public as well as community workers who will in turn support and educate vulnerable clients.

The Utilities Literacy Educator will develop and coordinate the delivery of education and training sessions on the management of utility services to both community sector workers and the general public. The aim of these sessions is build the capacity of people to understand utility contracts, bills, usage and payment tools.

You will:

  • have empathy for people experiencing financial hardship
  • have knowledge of money management practices
  • have experience in advocating for clients
  • have experience in the delivery of community education sessions

You will have: 

  • Current Australian Drivers Licence (essential)
  • Cert IV in Training and Assessment (desirable)
  • Relevant experience, in a paid or voluntary capacity

Travel across the service delivery area is required and you may also need to be available for some out of hours work.
