The Strengthening Families Service provides support to families to be safe, resilient, connected and knowledgeable about the raising and development of children and to ensure children and young people live in safe, secure and stable home environments.


Case Managers work with families in their own home and will assist families experiencing challenges in four key ways, with a particular focus on males within the family unit;

  • helping them to become more emotionally resilient, to better cope with challenges now and into the future
  • increasing their protective factors and reducing risk factors that can lead to child abuse and neglect
  • improving their knowledge about children’s development and needs, and
  • assisting them to experience connectedness to extended family, to community and to support services

You will have:

  • Case management experience
  • Strong relationship building and communication skills
  • An understanding of family challenges, child development and age appropriate strategies that will support parents to strengthen their parenting skills and ability to keep their children safe and nurtured
  • Conflict resolution and negotiation skills

It is essential for you to have: 

  • Current Australian Drivers Licence
  • Relevant experience, in a paid or voluntary capacity

A Certificate 4 or above in a Human Services related field e.g. Social Work, Community Services, Case Management, Child, Youth and Family Intervention, Youth Work, etc. will be highly regarded.


You may also need to be available for some out of hours work and travel between UCWCSA sites or interstate as required.
