The Youth and Family Services Department is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Team Leader to support the Youth Services FLO Programs Team within UCWPA.  Located at Youth Services Paralowie 94 Waterloo Corner Road, we require a competent professional with the following experience and one that enjoys working in a busy environment:

  • Sound leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in working in a human services setting and knowledge of a range of appropriate models of intervention
  • Experience in supervising and supporting staff
  • Understanding of youth development, youth culture, youth sector and options available to support young people
  • High level written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in working with marginalised young people from a strengths perspective, including skills in case planning, complex case management and group work
  • Knowledge and commitment to principles of youth participation, and quality management
  • Community skills including networking, negotiation, and mediation
  • Experience in preparation of reports
  • Experience in the management of service agreements and ensuring compliance
  • Knowledge of statutory requirements relevant to young people
  • Demonstrated competence in the use of Microsoft office applications

To be successful in the role you will have: 

  • Tertiary Qualification in Social Work, Social Science or Education
  • Dip or Cert IV in Youth Work
  • Experience in working with Young people
  • Experience in managing staff and programs

You will also demonstrate a positive and professional "can-do" attitude, excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to work equally well as a member of a team or working alone.
