The Youth & Family Services Department is looking to appoint an enthusiastic ‘Family Support Worker’ to support the Youth & Family Services Program within UCWPA. Located at 64 Dale Street, Port Adelaide, we require a competent professional with experience in complex case management including assessment, planning, referral and advocacy and enjoys working within a busy environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Gather information relevant to the client’s problems, needs and risks by interviewing, observing behaviour, meeting with caregivers and service providers
  • Provides support, guidance and problem-solving to clients to address issues related to family functioning in an individual or group setting
  • Work with families in a collaborative, developmental and supportive role and assist client families to access skills, quality relationships and self-sufficiency
  • Assist to develop and maintain client program and records documentation according to contract and standards

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Degree in Social Work or related field; or other relevant tertiary qualifications with significant experience
  • Current SA Driver’s licence & current DCSI clearance
  • Demonstrated experience  working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Individuals & Families
  • Demonstrated experience in complex case management including assessment, planning, referral and advocacy
