The Family Support Service provides Targeted Intervention, Family Preservation and Reunification services to preserve and strengthen family relationships to ensure children and young people live in safe, secure and stable home environments.  Our service promotes positive attitudes and lifestyle choices.  Case Managers work intensively with families to address child protection issues by assisting parents to build their parenting capacity and improve the safety of the home environment.


You will provide leadership and support to a team of Case Managers and will be directly responsible in ensuring that the needs and safety of children and young people remain the primary consideration at all times.  You will ensure that interventions support and empower families to keep their children safe and meet their needs.


You will:

  • Be a child focussed worker, driven to make a difference in the lives of families and children
  • Be experienced in working with families and children
  • Be an experienced Team Leader/Supervisor or you will have demonstrated potential to be a Team Leader, through providing  leadership and support in a team environment
  • Establish strong relationships with stakeholders

It is essential for you to have: 

  • Current Australian Drivers Licence
  • Have a Certificate IV (or above) in a Human Services related or leadership qualification
  • Experience in the Not for Profit and/or child protection sector

A tertiary qualification in a Human Services related field e.g. Social Work will be highly regarded.  You may also need to be available for some out of hours work and travel between UCWCSA sites or interstate as required.
